The circulatory system is the name given to the heart ,the blood , and the blood vessels.Along
.
.with the lungs , the circulatory system creates the circle that allows blood to move through the body
First the blood is pumped from the heart into the lungs by the contraction
of the right ventricle. In the lungs the blood gets rid of the waste and carbon dioxide that it has
.collected on its trip through the body .
.
.The blood in the lungs also becomes filled with oxygen again.
In the next stage, the oxygenated blood is pumped back into the heart through the left ventricle From there it
. is pumped out into the arteries. The arteries branch out like roots of aplant getting smaller and smaller
.The capillaries are where the blood gives off the oxygen that it has carried from the heart
After the blood has transported the oxygen and other nourishment to the tissues in the body it begins to
.make its way back to the heart .The arteries and capillaries bring the blood to the tissue of the body
However it is the veins that take the deoxygenated blood back to the heart to become refilled with oxygen
and start the process all over again This process happens hundreds of times aday The arteries ,capillaries
and veins of the human body provide the rods through which the blood travels In the average six-year-old
child there are approximately 93.000 Kilometers of blood vessels In the average adult that number increases
to over 161.290 kilometers The amazing thing about all this is that it only takes about one minute for the blood
to travel from the the heart to the most distant part of the body and back to the heart again.
