She couldn’t continue as a dancer though because at the age of fifteen she suffered a hip injury forcing her to stop dancing at an early age. After that, Emma started to learn acting and even changed her name to “Emma Samms”.

Samms first played Holly Sutton Scorpio on the ABC daytime soap opera General Hospital from 1982 to 1985. With Samms choosing to leave the series amicably to go to ABC’s Dynasty, her character Holly seemingly perished in a plane crash.
On 10 April 1985 Samms appeared in the fifth season episode “Kidnapped” as Fallon Carrington Colby, a role originated by Pamela Sue Martin in 1981.
The character was immediately transplanted into the new Dynasty spin-off The Colbys for two seasons (1985–1987), until reintroduced back into Dynasty in the 23 September 1987 eighth season premiere “The Siege – Part 1.”
Samms remained with Dynastyfor two seasons until its last episode on 11 May 1989. She later returned for the 1991 miniseries Dynasty: The Reunion. After the show’s run, Samms did some films which failed to get her noticed. She stayed with television.
In 1989, Samms made a guest appearance on the sitcom, My Two Dads playing Marcy Bradford, the deceased mother of Nicole Bradford (Staci Keanan) and the woman whom the two fathers (Paul Reiser; Greg Evigan) fought over.

As of 2019 Emma hasn’t been so much in the limelight, Her last media appearances were last year May 1, 2018. Former “Dynasty” star Emma Samms reveals she’s been battling Bell’s palsy.
“Happy to report that the paralysis on my face is now 90 percent better and I no longer need to wear the eyepatch,” the 57-year-old British actress tweeted Monday.
“Thank you again for all your kind words. They really helped! #bellspalsy.”Samms previous told fans on April 25 she was suffering from the illness that causes temporary facial paralysis, which results from damage or trauma to the facial nerves.
“So. For the past week I’ve had a thing called Bell’s Palsy,” she wrote at the time.“I have a wonky smile, am in slight danger of dribbling a cup of tea and can’t close my eye. Not the end of the world.
Trying to style it out with the eyepatch.”Samms credited Britain’s health service, NHS, for helping her treat the condition.

Soap Star Recalls Bermuda Trip In The 1970s
It was a celebrity #ThrowbackThursday picture to 1970s Bermuda featuring one face that was already familiar to TV viewers of that period and one that soon would be.
Posted on Twitter by British actress Emma Samms, the photo shows her as a starstruck 16-year-old schoolgirl in 1976 with actor Nick Nolte on the set of the Bermuda-based underwater thriller The Deep.
Coming off the phenomenally successful Rich, Man Poor Man mini-series, Mr. Nolte was a TV star about to make the transition to movie stardom in The Deep. his first big-budget Hollywood feature film.
And within a few years, Ms. Samms would herself be a fixture on daytime and prime-time US television.She first appeared as Holly Sutton Scorpio on the daytime drama General Hospital from 1982 until 1985,
Becoming so well-known even among those who did not watch the show that she was able to make the unusual leap to primetime as Fallon Carrington Colby in the top-rated ABC soap opera Dynasty and its spinoff, The Colbys.
Ms. Samms was vacationing in Bermuda with her family when they were invited to visit the set of The Deep, which proved to be a box office sensation when it was released the following year.
Her father, who owned a UK film equipment rental company, knew the film’s cinematographer, Christopher Challis. In a comment on the picture, Ms. Samms said,
“The next day we went back to the set again and as I was walking towards Nolte the wrap-around dress I was wearing blew completely open. MORTIFIED. It’s taken me 42 years to get over it.”
Now resident in the UK, Ms. Samms has made occasional guest appearances on General Hospital in recent years and has appeared on such British TV dramas as Casualty and Doctors.
She was appointed a Member of the British Empire [MBE] in the Queen’s 2016 Birthday Honours for services to seriously and terminally-ill children.
