Hard Rock Stadium purse policy states that guests can bring small clutch purses below 4.5” x 6.5”. The purse can be without handle or strap.
The Stadium is the home of the Miami Dolphins, an NFL Team that plays in the AFC East division. NCAA football team Miami Hurricanes also play their home fixtures on this ground.
Located in Florida’s Miami Gardens, the coliseum has a seating capacity of 64,767 people today.
Constructed and opened on 16 August 1987, the field saw a construction cost of $115 million at that time (now $313 million in valuation). The architect work was handled by HOK while Bliss & Nyitray Inc. were the structural engineers. The owner of the stadium today is Stephen Moss.
After its opening date in 1987, the coliseum has witnessed many name changes as part of company naming deals or appreciation for the Dolphins’ Greatest contributors. Its former names were Sun Life, Land Shark, and Joe Robbie.
They were renamed after the Hard Rock Cafe in 2016 after the cafe bought their naming rights for a $250 million fee. This NFL ground has hosted many Super Bowl events, including the XXIX and LIV.
Dolphins Stadium Bag Policy
Hard Rock Stadium Miami bag policy allows visitors to bring clear plastic bags that do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”. Small bags cannot be more than 4.5″ x 6.5″.
The venue has set strict regulations regarding what types of carriers their guests can bring inside. The officials have stated that people can bring in clear fanny packs, ziplock, cinch bags, and other clear backpacks.
If the guests have non-clear bags with them, then the regulations demand that these items cannot be more than 4.5″x 6.5″.
They have also made it exception for diaper bags and other medical carriers. However, the diaper bags are liable for search before entry into the venue. Similarly, all the visitors’ carriers are subject to strict search before entering the stadium.
The security personnel will check by either an X-ray or hands. They can check all the internal and external compartments of the carrier. Buckle, decoration, or other hardware should cover the bag parts too.
When the bag is within the proper dimensions and no suspicious items are found, then the guest can proceed inside with their bag.
What happens if the bag exceeds the required dimensions? The visitors still have the option to return their belongings to their vehicles or put them safely at the Guest Experience Bag Check Location. This area is situated near the Entry gates (3, 5, 8, 14). If you decide to put carriers in this location, a fee of $12 – $20 will be charged.
Hard Rock also closes the bag search one hour after the gates officially close. So, it is recommended to arrive early to create a more comforting experience.
Food Policy
Guests are not allowed to bring outside food inside the venue. Only people with special dietary needs can bring in food.
There are many food chains and dining places inside the stadium that serve ample delicious cuisines. Cafe Versailles, Deli Express, Tap Room, Sweet Spot, Sloppy Joe’s, Bud Light Sideline Bar, and Avo Eats Grill are some places for dining after the games.
The guests can bring water from their homes, but there are restrictions regarding it. Only plastic water bottles that are factory sealed and within 20 ounces are allowed inside. Reusable variants are strictly prohibited.
It is also important to note that the cash system is not accepted inside the venue. However, there are means for conversion at various Team Stores.
Camera Policy
Dolphins Stadium allows their guests to bring in cameras inside the venue. They can freely click and record videos for their personal purposes.
However, officials have placed a ban on accessories like monopods, bipods, tripods, selfie sticks, video cameras, and other professional cameras that contain great zoom lenses.
Guests are also permitted to bring in tablets and computers if they fall under the 12″x12″x12″ dimensions. The security personnel will also check their powered status. Non-powerable electronics won’t be permitted.
If a stadium performer seeks a smartphone-free environment, then no electronics will be allowed at that time.
Does Hard Rock Stadium Have A Retractable Roof?
Hard Rock Stadium cannot close or open at will since it lacks a Retractable Roof. There is a roof canopy to provide relief for the fans.
Initially, the Dolphins had no roof in their home field when the coliseum began its completion in 1987. However, due to Miami’s summer and the daytime game timings, demand began to surge for a sort of roof that could cool the stadium visitors.
The heat condition of the area gradually led Hard Rock to take action for renovations. Moreover, in 2010, the NFL had also stated that Super Bowl considerations would be halted if the stadium did not invest in any sort of roof.
With the pressure from the NFL too, the Dolphins stadium started to make a major renovation project that cost around $350 million. They added a large rooftop canopy that provided shade to a greater number of fans.
The canopy stretches 14 acres and weighs 17k tons. It is also supported by 8 concrete columns to assist in protection against volatile weather conditions. The coliseum is one of the rare sights to behold for a sophisticated flexible roof design.
SRG Roofing organization had taken the contract. Co-owner Kevin Kirkwood also stated how it was a marvelous piece of work despite the time constraints.
The stadium had charged the contractors to finish it before their first home game, and harsh Southern Florida weather only challenged them further. Their succession only adds to the grander story of the Dolphins Coliseum.
Seating Chart
Hard Rock Stadium Seating Chart features 3 levels inside the venue: 100, 200, and 300. The upper deck fans get shade due to the roof canopy.
Fans who get the 300-level seats can sit in the comfort of the shade without any sun problems during daytime games. Sea numbers 301 to 308, 328 to 336, and 356 are located just behind the end zone. Center sections contain 313 to 323 and 341 to 351.
The middle level is the 200 level, and it is filled with clubs and suite seats. Similarly, the 100 level also contains club sections at 147 and 148.
Due to the canopy’s structure, there is a big hole in the middle of the Field. Hence, this ensures that a particular seat is not always safe from the sunlight. However, the 300 level is the best and is always free from the sun.
The heated side of the stadium is in sections 114 to 122, as well as the visitor’s side of the lower deck. The northwestern end zones can feature sunlight during some games too.
