Harvey Weinstein is an American film producer, studio executive, and convicted rapist who has a net worth of $25 million.
Weinstein’s net worth was estimated to be $300 million at the peak of his career. Much of this valuation was based on the value of The Weinstein Company before the 2017 sexual scandals broke worldwide.
Harvey was reported to have reached a $44 million settlement with his victims in May 2019. The $44 million figure would be broken down as follows.
The first $30 million would go directly to plaintiffs in Weinstein lawsuits, while the remaining $14 million would go toward legal fees for Weinstein’s (mostly former) associates who are also named as defendants in the lawsuits. Harvey’s insurance companies will pay the majority of the settlement.
It was reported in December 2019 that the settlement had been reached for $25 million. An insurance company would make the payment.
Following the scandals, Weinstein was reportedly unable to meet various spousal support obligations. This comes after he was fired from his own company and forced to pay a reported $20 million divorce settlement to Georgina Chapman.
Harvey told a judge on January 12, 2017, that he couldn’t afford to pay spousal support to his first wife and their two children for the previous year. A judge agreed and put a stop to a $5 million debt he owed.
