Linwood Holton Cause Of Death

Abner Linwood Holton Jr. was born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia on September 21, 1923. He was a politician, political figure, and attorney.

Holton was enrolled into the Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, in 1941 but after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on July 4, 1942, he joined the United States Navy.

Holton graduated from Harvard Law School in 1949 and served as an attorney in Roanoke, Virginia before becoming a politician.

The great was honored for his contribution to society. In 1999, a school in Virginia named Linwood Holton Elementary School was named in his honor. In 2017, the City of Roanoke hosted Holton for the dedication of a plaza named in his honor.

Holton married Virginia “Jinks” Rogers, a CIA intelligence analyst and the daughter of a leading Roanoke Democratic Party figure. Their wedding ceremony took place on January 10, 1953.

Linwood Holton’ died at his home in Kilmarnock on October 28, 2021, at age 98.  According to reports, there was no cause for his death.
