Greenberg’s clothes were struck but not his body, according to Louisville Metro Police Chief Erika Shields, and the suspect was brought into custody outside the building.
On Monday morning, police were dispatched to the Butchertown Market at 1201 Story Avenue in response to a complaint of gunshots.
On the fourth level of that building, Greenberg’s campaign maintains an office.
Greenberg posted on Twitter before noon: “My team and I are fortunately all safe. We are all with LMPD now. I will provide an update as soon as possible. Thank you for the outpouring of support.”
