In 2017, Amir Khan, the husband of Faryal Makhdoom announced they had decided to go their separate ways. This announcement was made in August but by November it appeared that things were fine between them.
Makhdoom granted an interview after the announced breakup where she revealed that her marriage had gone through difficult times in the early years, especially because her husband who is a young boxer had difficulty adjusting to the life of marriage.
Faryal Makhdoom met Amir Khan in 2011 when Khan had come to New York. The pair met in a restaurant and from that time, it was akin to love at first sight. Khan asked for her number from a mutual friend and the pair hit it off immediately. By 2012, the boxer, who stated that the minute he met her, he was sure that she was his wife, asked her to marry him.
Their engagement lasted for sixteen months and by May of 2013 when Faryal Makhdoom was just twenty-one, they got married. They had two ceremonies; one was in New York at the Waldorf Astoria while the second one was at Bolton, Manchester, the hometown of Khan. The first ceremony had less than 400 guests in attendance while the second was a much bigger one with 4,000 guests as it was the traditional Pakistani wedding and done in the vicinity of the more popular one of the duo.
The couple has two children together. Their first child was born on the 23rd of May 2014 and her name is Lamaisha while their second child was born in April of 2018 and her name is Alayna. Makhdoom has revealed that her second child is her miracle baby as she is the reason Khan became more grounded and a much better father.
