What Religion Is Nikolas Cruz? Is The Parkland High Shooter Christian Or Catholic

Many believe Parkland Shooter Nikolas Croz had a religious motive behind his attack.

Parkland School Shooter, Nikolas Cruz, committed a heinous crime on February 14, 2018, that killed 17 innocent people and injured 17 others at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Parkland, Florida.

Cruz opened fire on students and staff at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School which took away 17 innocent lives. He fled the scene and was arrested in Coral Springs one hour later, charged with 17 murders and 17 attempted murders.

On October 20, 2021, Nikolas Cruz pleaded guilty to the massacre at Parkland High School, for killing 14 students and three staff members.

Parkland High School massacre is the deadliest high school shooting in the history of the United States.

Troubled Kid Nikolas’ Family History

Born in Margate, Florida, Nikolas Jacob, 23, was adopted by Lynda and Rodger Cruz along with his brother. By the time he was 6, he lost his father to a heart attack which he witnessed and later suffered trauma.

Two months prior to the Parkland mass shooting, his mother Lynda died. As per court documents, it was later discovered that Nikolas has 31 years old, half-sister named Daniella.

Cruz was a troubled kid, he was diagnosed with developmental delays at 3. Nikolas was diagnosed with a series of mental illness and conditions which includes depression, emotional behavioral disability, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anger issues, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Cruz had records of a history, of being violent and physical to his mother and brother. Nikolas Cruz’s religion and family descents still remain undisclosed.

Nikolas Was Expelled From Douglas High

Former Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps often talked about guns and bullets. He was part of his MSDs varsity air rifle team.

At one time, he was found bringing bullets in his backpack onto the school premises. For this, he was kicked out of Douglas High in Junior High. While he was a student at Douglas High, he faced numerous disciplinary actions of violence. After he was expelled, Cruz attended another school in Broward County.

Former MSD High student, Cruz, wasn’t social, he had trouble making friends. and often bullied by his friends and brother Zachery. He was labeled as ‘weirdo, creepy, and freak’ at School, according to Douglas High students.

In the last 10 years, before the Parkland High School massacre, the police reported 23 calls from his mother.

Death Penalty or Life Imprisonment

While the prosecutors are routing for a death sentence, Cruz’s defense team is hopeful for a life sentence as the convict has pleaded guilty to all the charges.

The defense might argue that the gunman was impaired by mental illness. In addition, his biological mother, Brenda Woodard was an alcoholic and drug abuser. She was arrested for cocaine purchase while pregnant with Cruz. It’s most likely, that the defense team will bring it up to the jury considering whether the gunman should be sentenced to death or life.

Although his biological mother had nothing to do with his upbringing, her addiction while he was in the uterus did contribute to his genetic makeup.

Now Jurors Must Decide

However, due to the premeditated nature of this crime, it might be tough for the defense to place that argument.

The MSD massacre which occurred four years ago faced repeated delays due to the Corona Virus pandemic. However, the sentencing trial for the convicted MSD shooter began this Monday. For which now, the jurors must decide whether the gunman gets the death penalty or faces life imprisonment.

As you can see in the above picture, how this heinous act affected the whole Parkland High community and the victims’ families. Well, it still haunts the whole nation affected one way or the other. Thousands, if not millions were affected by this act of terror throughout the country. Should the gunman be sentenced to death or let live? What is your take on this matter?
