Ellie King’s early life and family
King was born on 3rd July 1989 in Los Angeles, California to Rob Schneider and London King, a former model. She also has a sibling named Noah King. Soon after her parents were divorced and her mother remarried Justin Tesa.
She decided to be a musician at the age of nine when her stepfather gave her a record by the female Hard Rock band the Donnas.
She listened to other bands’ music during that time. She made her acting debut alongside her father in the movie, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. She taught herself by playing guitar at the age of 13, immersing herself in music.
She grew up living in Ohio, between Wilson and Columbus. It was her interest in the country and bluegrass of Hank Williams and Earl Scruggs that inspired her to learn the banjo.
She attended Buck’s Rock Camp in Connecticut during her teenage years, where she starred successfully in a number of musicals. King spent her teenage years in New York City, but she has also lived in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Copenhagen, Denmark.
After graduating from Elizabeth Irwin High School, she moved to Philadelphia to enroll at the University of the Arts by studying painting and film. During her college years, she used to watch the band on stage, who used a banjo for learning purposes.

King met a young man named Andrew Ferguson in a hotel lobby in London and they started dating in January 2016. The couple quickly got engaged 12 days later on a sailing trip around San Francisco Bay. They got married on 14th February 2016 and confirmed their intention to divorce on 15th May 2017. However. Ferguson was arrested and charged with the felony of domestic violence after allegedly grabbing King by the throat and threatening to kill her on 23rd April 2017, even though this charge was later dropped.
King and Ferguson briefly reconciled in late 2017. As of October 2020, King is engaged to tattoo artist Dan Tooker.
King revealed that she was pregnant with her first child with tattoo artist Dan Tooker On 3rd March 2021, in an Instagram post after two miscarriages. She welcomed her first baby boy on the 1st of September 2021 named Lucky Levy Tooker.

King debuted as an actress in her father’s movie in 1999. She used to gain entry into the local nightclubs in New York City at the age of 16 with fake IDs to enhance her songwriting skills. She used to perform at various places around the town and later was appointed by RCA chairman, Peter Edge.
She made her debut with a single named “good to be a man”, which was released on 13th March 2012 as a digital download and also has a 7-inch vinyl single. She also recorded various songs for Andy Baldwin and Chris DeStefano, with King herself producing a track. King released “Ex’s&Oh’s”, which serves as a lead single off her debut album in September 2014, as well as “Love stuff” on 17th February 2015. She performed Ex’s&Oh’s the next day to promote it which reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song even received two nominations at the 58th Grammy Awards, Best Rock Performance, and Best Rock Song.
