She was born on July 12, 1975 to the royal Nwaturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area in Imo state. She has her primary and secondary education in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom. Upon completion of her secondary education, she went ahead to bag a BSc degree in Theatre Arts from University of Port Harcourt in 1999.
Rita had passion for acting since when she was a child. She started performing in school plays and children’s television shows in Imo state.
Her debut movie appearance was in the movie ‘Time to Kill’, a movie that brought her to limelight. She has acted alongside other Nollywood stars like Joke Silva, Desmond Elliot, Ini Edo, Ramsey Nouah, Olu Jacobs and Genevieve Nnaji.
