Former Australian Olympian Nathan Baggaley is sentenced to 25-years in jail for a failed cocaine smuggling in Australia.
Nathan Baggaley is a former athlete, sprint canoeist, and surf ski champion.
Further, he is a three-time champion and has won two silver medals at the 2004 Athens Olympic. He was honored with the Australian Institute of Sport’s Athlete of the Year that year.
He was later banned for twenty months from competing for steroid use.

Nathan Baggaley Is Sentenced Along With Brother Dru
Nathan Baggaley and brother Dru are each sentenced to jail for more than 20 years.
They were arrested and charged for trying to smuggle cocaine worth $200 million into Australia.
Dru Baggaley was arrested in August 2018, while Nathan was arrested in June 2019 from his home in Byron Bay.
Dru collected the drugs from a ship off the NSW coast with Anthony Draper, who pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Dru and Draper dumped bundles of drugs into the water before they were arrested. Although Nathan was not present with them, the boat used for the smuggling was his.
Also, Nathan was continuously communicating with Dru using an encrypted phone app.
The prosecutors stated the motive for the crime was nothing but greed. The Baggaley brothers pleaded guilty on April 1, 2021.
On July 27, the court sentenced Nathan to 25 years in jail with a non-parole period of 16 years.
His brother, Dru, was sentenced to 28 years in jail with a non-parole period of 16 years.
